Around the World Sessions (Virtual and In-Person)

International speakers from around the world will present on global topics of broad interest. These sessions will take place on every conference day, both in-person and virtual.

Exhibitor Showcase (Virtual and In-person)

The Exhibitor Showcase brings together organizations who offer programs, products and services of interest to career development professionals.

Keynote Sessions (Virtual and In-person)

Each conference day will feature one live plenary keynote session. The keynotes will take place in Canada Hall 1&2 at the Rogers Centre Ottawa and be streamed into the virtual conference platform. All keynote sessions will be fully accessible with simultaneous interpretation into French and English captioning.

Main Stage (Virtual and In-person)

A select concurrent session in every block will take place in Canada Hall 1&2 at the Rogers Centre Ottawa and be streamed into the virtual conference platform. These sessions are fully accessible with simultaneous interpretation into French and English captioning.

Simulive Sessions (Virtual)

Each block of Virtual Cannexus26 will feature several pre-recorded sessions alongside live sessions, with presenters available in the chat room during the release time to answer questions and engage in discussions with the audience.

Live Plenary Sessions (Virtual, In-person and In-person Viewing Party)

Each live conference day will feature at least one live plenary session. These sessions include keynotes and will consist of a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A period.

Sector Leaders Sessions (Virtual and In-person)

Aimed at Executive Directors, Directors and Senior Managers across the career and workforce development sector, these sessions examine organizational, sectoral and economic changes and what they means for decision-makers and change agents in our communities.

Workforce Development Spotlight

The Workforce Development Spotlight takes the form of one whole Block of five presentations on Monday, January 24 from 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm ET. It will explore how workforce strategies increase community capacity and improve employment opportunities through systemic change.

Carousel Sessions (In-person)

Carousels consist of two 25-minute sessions and are a great way to learn in a less formal setting. Delegates choose a roundtable then rotate to another table of their choice after 25 minutes. Carousels accommodate 15 attendees per table.

Hybrid Sessions (Virtual and In-person)

Each live conference day will include several hybrid sessions. These sessions will consist of keynotes, main stage presentations, plenary discussions, opening ceremonies and the Wileman Award presentation. They will be streamed live from the in-person Cannexus at the Rogers Centre Ottawa to the virtual platform. All hybrid sessions will be fully accessible, featuring simultaneous interpretation in French, as well as English and French captioning.

Live Concurrent Sessions (Virtual and In-person)

Live concurrent presentations take place on every conference day. These sessions feature a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A period. Some have single presenters while others have multiple panellists.

Spark! Session (Virtual and In-person)

This is the Cannexus version of TED Talks. You will have the opportunity to listen to unique speakers who will “spark” you to think differently about your work.

Supporting organizations

Supporting organizations in the career development field partner with Cannexus to promote the conference to their members and networks. Members of supporting organizations receive a 20% discount on Cannexus registration.

Hallway Meetings (virtual)

These video-based group (4-5 people) matchmaking sessions take place during one break each day. If you sign up for Hallway Meetings, CERIC will randomly match you with other attendees and schedule the Zoom Meeting in your personal schedule in the virtual conference platform. Attendees interested in participating in Hallway Meetings can sign up when they register on the Cannexus registration form.
