Revolutionizing Career Practice Using Life Designing and AI
Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm ET
In this keynote, Dr. Kevin Glavin explores the revolutionary paradigm of Life Designing for Career Construction (LDCC) and its integration with Artificial Intelligence. The evolving world of work necessitates a revolution in career practice. Driven by technological advancements, globalization and shifting work structures, traditional career theories fall short in addressing the complex, ambiguous and unfamiliar career concerns today’s workers now face. Drawing from personal experience and years of collaboration with Dr. Mark Savickas, Kevin will illustrate how LDCC’s narrative approach, enhanced by AI, is transforming career counselling. He will highlight the creative application of AI in making complex interventions like the Career Construction Interview more accessible and scalable. Dr. Glavin will also share insights on global trends, including the concerning shortage of skilled career counsellors and the challenges posed by “dejobbing” in society. This presentation offers a unique perspective on innovative approaches to career guidance in the 21st century, demonstrating how technology can amplify the impact of psychological interventions in career development.
